Hair dyer is a soluble chemical product that is used for staining as well as coloring hair. There are two types of hair dyer available in the market. It is said that hair dyer made of natural ingredients are less hypoallergenic than those, which are made of chemicals. Therefore, think twice before buying a hair dyer from the market.
Chemical dyes have a toxic base and causes irritation and allergies. A patch test is performed by a hair-dresser before dyeing the hair. This test is carried out 24 hours before applying the dye so as to check for any irritation or allergies. If not, then the dye can be used.
Fine hair can be dyed easily as it absorbs better while the coarse hair are resistant to these dyes. Hence as time goes on, more and more of the dye will be required for dyeing the hair since the repeated use of dye for coloring the hair make them coarse and hence resistive to dyes.
For a regular hair care routine, hair should be washed with a mild shampoo. Amla shampoo is ideal as it lubricates the hair and has a powerful cleansing action without disturbing the oil balance and also restores the acid-alkaline balance of the scalp. A hair rinse used with the shampoo completes the hair wash and leaves the hair in a manageable condition.
Lead is a high toxic metallic element and very harmful for human body. In the chemical and paint industry lead is used in the production system. Lead acetate is used in most leading hair dyers. This lead acetate is very harmful for any internal use and that is why ‘Caution’ or ‘Warning’ label is written on the packet of hair dyeing product.
According to the research work, it is found that the risk of having cancer is more among hair professionals than normal people. Scientists are also researching on the issue of correlation between use of hair dyer and getting breast cancer. Due to high exposure of chemicals, female hair stylists/professionals are getting affected by breast cancer.
I think that the new Sedu hairstyle trend is going a bit overboard. Looking good has it’s limits and doing so much to your hair isn’t always healthy. Moderation is the key. Look good, feel good, but stay healthy both mentally and physically.
